Environ® was developed by respected South African plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandes to address the damaging effects of UV light. Unique and extremely effective, Environ® salon treatments and homecare products feature scientifically proven active ingredients - vitamin A and antioxidant vitamins C, E and beta-carotene.
These ingredients are used in progressively higher concentrations to ensure the protection and maintenance of smooth, even-toned, and healthy skin by reducing and preventing signs of ageing, pigmentation, problem skin and scarring.
Environ® replenishes the vitamins that are vital for the skin’s health, but which are destroyed by the UVA light that penetrates clouds, clothes and even windows. Vitamin A affects the DNA, repairing and maintaining its function for improved collagen and elastin production, normal sebum production and better pigment control.
The specific combination of vitamins C and A is very important. Vitamin C improves skin's elasticity, reduces pigment formation and preserves functionality of the cell membranes. It inhibits the destruction of collagen, promoting the formation of more new and healthy collagen. Anti-oxidants such as vitamins C, E and beta-carotene neutralise the effects of free-radical damage caused by light, pollution and stress.
As far as is practical, the Environ® range is free from synthetic preservatives, colourants and fragrance.
